How to Make Your Devices Double as Decor

By Tailored by Woodhill - 2-27-2023

We build our homes tailored to you so that your home can fit everyone and everything you love in it. Your home should be a place where you can live fully. For many households, electronics play a large part in that. From TVs to tablets to speakers, your devices help you work and play. If you are tired of your devices making your space look cluttered and ugly, however, there are some things you can do! Here are a few ways you can disguise, hide, or transform your devices so that they can blend into your home decor.

Hide Your Wires

When it comes to our devices and electronics, one of the major contributors to visual clutter is the wires that accompany them. Therefore, if you can tidy up those visible cables or hide them altogether, you can make your space look cleaner and more cohesive. There are two popular ways of doing this. One is with a cable box. A cable box allows you to transfer a mess of cables to a sleek box that fits in with your design style instead. These are great even for things like wall mounted TVs since a slender cable box can be hidden behind the TV itself. Another option is a cord cover. Cord covers are simply installed onto your wall to cover cords and cables that are visible. They come in classic neutral colors or can be painted to match the color of your wall. Both of these items can be easily sourced on sites like Amazon for a small price tag.

Showcase Your Gaming Consoles

Gaming consoles can easily make an entertainment center look cramped and cluttered. Free up some space and showcase some of your most prized possessions by mounting consoles instead. This way you do not have to worry about accidentally knocking over expensive devices either when you are searching for movies or games in the entertainment center. And if you put a decorative faceplate onto your console too, you can even make your gaming system double as art.

Frame Your TV

For most households, the TV is a heavily used device. Family movie nights, date nights, and more are spent next to a TV. That being said, a TV can seriously throw off your home design. For many, it is just an eyesore. It doesn’t have to be! Some TVs are designed with an art mode, like The Frame TV by Samsung. But even if you do not want to shell out hundreds of dollars for a new TV, you can DIY a frame for your existing TV that matches your design style. Additionally, you can design a gallery wall around your framed TV. Then when you are hosting, you can display images of art on your TV, and it will seamlessly blend into your gallery wall.

At the end of the day, you can have it all. Style, function, and fun. If you put these tips to use, your devices can most certainly double as decor.
